The seven-year-old from Wedderburn is the first winner of the Name the Cranes competition for the Bendigo Hospital project.
The name she chose for the first crane erected at the hospital construction site is Ben.
"I chose it because of Bendigo," Neve said.
Neve said she was excited to discover she had won the competition.
Neve's mother Michelle said her daughter had come up with the name after some brainstorming with the family.
The competition was a joint initiative between Lend Lease, Exemplar Health and Bendigo Health.
The Bendigo Advertiser also played a part in running the competition.
Northern Victoria state liberal member Amanda Millar said the competition was a wonderful way to connect the community with the hospital project.
"Neve's name was so clever and so simple," she said.
"The competition is a great way to link the community with the project and we have had strong participation."
Crane driver Bill Kiezlenverg presented Neve with a certificate on Tuesday.
Winners of the competition for the other three cranes would be revealed in the coming weeks.
