After dominating last year’s VWFL division one season when they were unbeaten, the Thunder are stepping up in competition in 2014.
As well as making the move into the Premier League, the Thunder are also keen to establish a reserves team to compete in a division of the north west conference.
"What we're looking for is women over the age of 17 who are interested in fitness, enjoy sports, particularly team games, and are willing to have a go at a new and exciting challenge," Thunder coach Russell Jeffrey said on Saturday.
"Previous experience in Aussie Rules isn't a requirement.
"The club has many members who have developed into exceptional players, but didn't come from a traditional football background.
"We provide individual and group training and it has been our experience that once a player takes the plunge and joins in, they improve rapidly in all facets of the game.
"Like all football clubs, we draw on a wide range of backgrounds and the club has a growing supporter base.
"The club recognises that people play sport for enjoyment, and while we always train efficiently and effectively, there's always an element of fun."
The Thunder are training three nights a week, with their next session at Lake Weeroona on Monday.
The club meets on the lawn beside the boatshed at 6pm.
