LET'S hope the Good Samaritan who helped save the woman struck by lightning at Cairn Curran on Wednesday is rewarded in life for the amazing thing she did that night.
Those at the scene have been left in little doubt the actions of this Good Samaritan saved Simone Newman's life.
It's heartwarming to hear of a person wanting to get involved in an emergency situation and have the clear presence of mind to direct others to help with the life saving operation.
Such a willingness to help someone in dire need suggests this Good Samaritan has a good heart and fantastic character.
Such a willingness to help someone in dire need suggests this Good Samaritan has a good heart and fantastic character.
The fact this woman left without any fanfare further enhances what she did that night.
It's incredible to think Simone Newman survived a lightning strike.
National Geographic reports the odds of becoming a lightning strike victim in America in any one year is 700,000 to 1. The odds of being struck in your lifetime is 3000 to 1.
The odds were in Simone Newman's favour on Wednesday night with someone clearly skilled in first aid right on the spot.
We wish Simone well in her recovery.
Well done Good Samaritan - your actions were a wonderful thing.
