Crime Stoppers Victoria, the Victorian government and emergency services joined forces to launch a Bushfire Arson campaign in Rosalind Park yesterday, calling on the community to speak out.
Crime Stoppers Victoria chief executive Samantha Hunter said it was an important message.
“These completely avoidable fires threaten lives, livelihoods and homes throughout Victoria.
“If you see something, say something.
“Even a small piece of information may be the last piece in the puzzle that police are seeking.”
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Barry Lyons has backed the campaign, describing arson as "vile".
“Our community has an important role to play in ensuring that acts of arson and other reckless fire activity are reported to Crime Stoppers,” he said.
