UPDATE 8.20PM: The CFA has declared the Harcourt North fire contained.
A watch and act warning was issued for Barker Road in Harcourt North for between 8pm and 9pm.
The CFA has now downgraded that to an alert message.
Fire crews have stopped the spread of the grassfire.
The fire is now listed as under control.
UPDATE 7.45PM: Helicopter water bombers are helping fight a fire at Harcourt North.
The fire is listed as 'not yet under control' with eight CFA vehicles attending.
A large plume of smoke coming off the fire has subsided in the past 20 minutes.
The fire is beside the Harcourt-Sutton Grange Road in the foothills of Mt Alexander.
EARLIER: FIRE crews are facing another night of lightning strikes as a new band passes through the state.
A similar band started more than 200 fires across Victoria on Tuesday night.
Most of the fire action is centred on the west of the state and into the Mallee as the lightning band moves through.
An emergency warning has been issued for a fire near Yaapeet.
There is a fast moving bushfire travelling in a south easterly direction from Goslings Road.
Nypo and Yaapeet could be impacted within the next two hours.
A downgraded watch and act warning has been issued for a fire in the Hopetoun West area.
The fire is travelling south from Paradise Flora and Fauna Reserve towards Eys Moyles Road.
An advice message has also been issued for the Gypsum, Nandaly, Patchewollock, Speed and Tempy areas.
A fire is burning 12 kilometres south west of Ouyen but there is no present threat to communities.
An advice message has been issued for Metcalfe East, Metcalfe and Barfold after a fire broke out on Coliban Park Road in Metcalfe.
The Country Fire Authority message said fire crews were responding and there was no immediate threat to communities.
Small fires have been reported at Mt Korong near Inglewood, Maiden Gully, Pipers Creek, Guildford, Yandoit and Daylesford.
