Sharp had the best seats at the Sydney Cricket Ground, watching the Australian team clinch a series whitewash against England.
The 15-year-old was the recipient of the Ultimate Member’s Package, the grand prize of the CommBank’Cricket Club’s support for the 2013-14 Ashes series.
The winning package included flights and accommodation to the first two days of the pink test.
Sharp was also treated to exclusive tours of the dressing room, access to a training session, a walk around the boundary during lunch and a cricket bat signed by the Australian test team.
The Strathdale Maristians cricketer said he was surprised to have found out he had won the prize.
“I was at the MCG for the Boxing Day Test and I was walking around looking for a radio and saw if I entered the club I would get a free radio,” he said.
“I thought it was cool that I got something free and then a couple of days later I found out I was going to Sydney.”
The Bendigo South East College student also got to meet one of his cricket idols, Glenn McGrath.
"Glenn was awesome. He is a great bloke," he said.
"I have always looked up to him."
Sharp said the trip to Sydney was a money-can't-buy experience.
“It was fantastic and to win 5-0 was even better,” he said.
“It was great to go to Sydney and experience a different ground.”
