Lightning strikes were recorded around the state and were most frequent around the Mallee.
Bendigo CFA reported no incidents in the region.
A CFA spokesman said lightning had caused issues in the northwest of the state.
“I don’t have anything in the system about the immediate Bendigo area,” he said.
“It’s mainly in the Mallee.”
Bendigo Advertiser readers have sent in photos of the lightning strikes.
Hobby photographer Rikki Pool said the strikes were the best he had seen in years.
“I’m quite happy with the photos,” he said.
“There’s no better way to train; the conditions are always changing.
“You never get the same two lightning bolts.
“The best thing is just being outside at night with the thunder rolling around you.
“It gives you a good sense of freedom in life really.”
Mr Pool shot his images around Harcourt with a Canon 6D.
Most were shot at an ISO of 1000 at f11, with an exposure of 20 seconds.
“They’re not hard to capture at all as long as you know what settings to use,” he said.
“It’s a matter of trial and error.”
Mr Pool said his lightning images were for sale and people could contact him via email at rikki_pool@hotmail.com or via his Rikki Pool Photography Facebook page.
