State selection for Scots' trio

SCOTS Baseball Club team-mates Lachlan Jack, Darcy Harrison and Tyson Cox-Davies are pitting themselves against some of the country's best young players in Sydney.

Jack, Harrison and Cox-Davies are representing Victoria in the Baseball Australia Under-16 National Youth Championships, which began on Tuesday at Sydney's Blue Sox Stadium.

Jack, who turned 15 on Tuesday, is playing for Victoria Blue, while Harrison, 14, and Cox-Davies, 15, are lining up for Victoria White.

Victoria Blue made a strong start to the tournament, winning its opening two games, while it has been tougher going for Victoria White, which was 0-2 after its first matches.

The eight-day national championships run until January 14.
