Goers' coach Max Taylor is hopeful all-rounder Marcus McKern and leg-spinner Tim Edwards will play for Bendigo in this Saturday's resumption of the BDCA season against Bendigo United at Bendigo District RSL Oval.
"Tim played in the B grade the game before Christmas against Eaglehawk and took three wickets," Taylor said on Wednesday.
"Marcus played a game in the C grade before Christmas, so hopefully, we'll have them in the A grade this week.
"We've got a lot of good kids, but we need a couple more experienced players to help them out a bit."
The Goers are also hopeful that talented youngster Nathan Fitzpatrick may miss only one more match after suffering a foot injury representing the BDCA against the Australian Cricketers Association Masters in late November.
• Meanwhile, Kangaroo Flat will celebrate its maiden BDCA first XI premiership later this month when it holds a 10-year reunion.
The Roos defeated Strathdale-Maristians by nine wickets to win the 2003-04 BDCA grand final at Canterbury Park.
Kangaroo Flat answered the Suns' 231 with 1-234.
The grand final had a memorable ending when the Roos’ Tony Taig hit Cameron Taylor for six to win the game and bring up his century.
The flag reunion will be held at the Kangaroo Flat Sports Club from 7pm on Saturday, January 25.
