ATHLETES from Cook Islands, Fiji and Nauru joined in Tuesday's medal-winning spree at the Oceania Masters athletics championships in Bendigo.

There were records broken across a wide range of age groups and disciplines at the La Trobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Flora Hill.

An action-packed program for athletes from those in their 30s up to the 90s included the 5000m run, 60m dash, hammer throw, long jump, pole vault, and shot put.

The championships continue on Wednesday from 8.30am at the Retreat Road complex.
