Acting Senior Sergeant Della Nihill said the 34-year-old male caused damage worth $2000 to the police car and crashed into another car when the offender tried to drive away from a marked Highway Patrol car at 8.15pm.
"The man was parked in a communal driveway at a block of flats," she said.
"He has seen our marked police car and attempted to get away.
"He has then crashed into an unmarked police car, gone up onto a garden bed, then driven into a citizen's car.
"The man was wanted for three outstanding warrants.
"He has received 17 further charges as a result of trying to flee.
"We received an anonymous tip off that he was at the Flora Hill property."
The man was arrested and remanded in custody.
