Fun in the sunshine

LAKE Eppalock was holiday central at the weekend with many families enjoying the sun, sand and water.

People spent their time sunbathing on the shore and chatting with friends while others chose to cool off in the water.

Boats and jet skis made their way around the lake towing skiers while people bobbed up and down on lilos and inflatable rings.

Holiday-makers Wendy and Wayne Walsh spent Friday relaxing in the shade near the Lake Eppalock Holiday Park.

The pair have a caravan at the park and said they liked to spend their holidays at Lake Eppalock relaxing.

"You get to meet lots of different people," Ms Walsh said.

"It is great to escape during the busy period and just relax on the lake.

"We hope to continue coming."

Holiday-maker Christine Vella said she had been holidaying at the park for more than 40 years.

She said the park was family-friendly.

"Even if the kids don't know someone they still play together," she said.

"We have made some really good friends from coming.

"It's a great spot and there is lots happening.

"We love it."

Lake Eppalock Holiday Park owner Leisa Rose said people enjoyed the location of the park.

"It's on the lake - that's something people like," she said.

Ms Rose said about 1500 people would pass through the park gates during the holiday period.

She said most holiday-makers would rebook for next year at the end of their trip.

Stephanie Vella said the thing she liked most about Lake Eppalock was the fishing competition run on Saturday.

"It's lots of fun," she said.

"It's really good."
