Among those bound for the hills are Brady Threlfall, Andy Buchanan, Fraser Walsh, and the Cook family of Victor, Meredith and Jamie.
After recently breaking his own Bendigo 10km record by 21 seconds, Threlfall said the training would play a key part leading into 2014.
"A major goal for next year is to qualify for the 1500m and 5000m at the nationals," Threlfall said on Thursday.
The Bendigo Harriers' star needs to lower his PBs of 3.53 for the 1500m and 14.27 for 5km by at least two seconds to qualify. A season-high was a time of 30.06 in the 10km at the Zatopek Classic.
