MATTHEW Dellavedova did his job off the bench in a mixed weekend for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.
The Maryborough-raised guard played 15 minutes in Saturday's (AEDT) 114-111 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Cleveland.
He scored two points to go with two assists, one rebound and one blocked shot.
On Sunday (AEDT), Dellavedova scored 10 points, dished out four assists and had two blocks in a disappointing 100-84 loss to the undermanned Chicago Bulls.
Dellavedova was two-for-three from behind three-poinr arc, but the rest of the team struggled from the perimeter with the Cavs shooting at 22 per cent from long range.
Just more than quarter into his rookie NBA season, Dellavedova is averaging four points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Not huge numbers, but he's clearly the best performed rookie on the Cavs' roster, which includes number one pick in the draft Anthony Bennett.
The Cavaliers play the Detriot Pistons in Cleveland on Tuesday morning (AEDT) before hosting Atlanta on Saturday (AEDT).
The Cavs hold a 10-16 record and are in 10th place in the eastern conference standings.
The top eight teams qualify for the play-offs.
