Ms Tuohey was named Practice Manager of the Year at the Victorian Rural Health Awards in Melbourne.
“It is such an honour to be recognized as the Practice Manager of the Year," Ms Tuohey said.
"Very special thanks are for Dr Adel Asaid and his lovely wife Zizette.
"Thanks to all the people at our Elmore, Rochester, Heathcote, Strathfieldsaye and Boort practices - they are amazing and hard-working staff, whom without I would not be here today.”
Ms Tuohey said the Elmore community was always supportive.
“My passion and commitment to promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of my local community stems from my lifetime of having lived, worked, raised a family, and been part of a close knit community in rural Victoria," she said.
“I have been privileged to have been rewarded with the experience of working with such gifted and committed health and medical practitioners."
Highlights of Ms Tuohey's time in Elmore include the establishment of the Elmore Medical Practice and the partnership with Bendigo Community Health Services.
"In 2008 I was largely in charge of getting Elmore it’s own Pharmacy for the first time in 30 years," she said.
"During my time here, I have been able to seek opinion from the community regarding the most wanted and needed services for our health service.
"Through this, we have been able to source services such as dentistry, physiotherapy, massage, counselling, psychology, state of the art digital x-ray, and more."
