Buses will start arriving at the Bendigo Stadium about 11.30am with lunch to be served at 12.30pm.
Bendigo Stadium chief executive Jason Wallace told the Bendigo Advertiser on Sunday preparations were on track and it was shaping up to be a great event.
"We've got all of our volunteers as well so we're all set for a big day," he said.
"The Bendigo Theatre Company have been doing rehearsals at the weekend, they've got entertainment planned for the day.
"It's going to be great.
"It's going to be a good atmosphere. We're looking forward to it."
Bendigo's IGA supermarkets and Myer Bendigo have thrown their support behind the event with donations of food and decorations.
Long Gully IGA Manager Trevor Morison said the supermarkets’ joint decision to donate the food was an easy one.
“All the IGA supermarket owners agreed this was an opportunity to do some good and provide for those people who don’t always get to have a merry Christmas,” Mr Morison said.
“At first IGA was going to help source the food at the best possible price but then it was obvious that the best way to really assist was to donate the goods.
“The food we’re providing is of the highest quality and guests will be able to have a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.”
