Bendigo is still feeling the heat

IT WAS another hot day in Bendigo on Friday with temperatures above 40 degrees.

The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed the mercury hit 41.3 degrees at 2.21pm.

It was a Total Fire Ban in the Northern Country, Mallee and Wimmera fire districts.

There were several fire incidents during the day including a house fire in Flora Hill, likely caused by Christmas lights that had been left on.

There was also a grass fire on Rothacker Road in Serpentine which was caused by a lightning strike and 12 CFA units attended a grass fire at Ultima.

Today is not a day of Total Fire Ban.

Metro cancelled more trains yesterday but services are expected to run as normal from Saturday.
