The body of a Hawthorn father who was murdered last week has been found near the summit of a mountain in central Victoria.
Police have confirmed the body of Wayne Amey was found on Wednesday afternoon near the top of Mount Korong.
Earlier on Wednesday, an ex-girlfriend of Mr Amey appeared in court after it was alleged she helped dispose of his body.

Robyn Jane Lindholm, a one-time girlfriend of slain underworld figure Alphonse Gangitano, helped dump the body, made a brief appearance in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday. She was arrested last week in relation to the disappearance and suspected death of Mr Amey.
Ms Lindholm, of Reservoir, was charged on Tuesday with being an accessory to murder. She is also charged with intentionally causing serious injury to Mr Amey on December 10 and stealing his red Toyota Hilux that same day.
Charge sheets tendered to court allege that some time between December 10 and December 14, Ms Lindholm knew or believed John Anthony Ryan killed Mr Amey and assisted in the disposal of Mr Amey’s body.
Detectives were told the body had been dumped in a crevasse at Mount Korong, north-west of Bendigo, after he was attacked near his Hawthorn apartment on December 10.
Mr Ryan, 36, is still on the run from police.
Ms Lindholm, a former stripper, wore a black singlet with silver sequins during her court appearance, during which she looked at two women seated at court.
She said nothing and made no application for bail. She was remanded in custody to appear again on May 13.
Defence counsel Juliet Hardy said her client was coming down from using the drug ice, had never been in custody before and suffered from panic attacks and asthma.
Ms Hardy said Ms Lindholm also wanted to see a doctor, as she had suffered several abrasions during her arrest.
Ms Lindholm was taken into custody following a police chase involving Mr Amey’s Hilux in Brunswick on Friday.
Torsten Trabert was also charged on Tuesday night with intentionally causing serious injury and accessory to murder.
He faced an out of sessions court hearing on Tuesday and was bailed by a bail justice to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court at a later date.
A warrant has been issued for Mr Ryan’s arrest.
Mr Amey, who owns the Visions Fitness Centre in Hawthorn, could have been beaten and ‘‘taken’’ from his apartment car park in Hawthorn, Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles said.
His son, Pat, found a pool of blood in the car park the next morning and contacted police.
Ms Lindholm and Mr Trabert had been assisting police with the search for Mr Amey, Senior Sergeant Iddles said on Tuesday.
‘‘As a result of the information we’re confident that, sadly, Wayne Amey’s body is here at Mount Korong.’’
In 2005 Ms Lindholm’s then fiance, George Templeton, also known as George Teazis, vanished after leaving the Reservoir house the coupled had shared.
Mr Amey, who was a personal trainer and dated Ms Lindholm before and after her fiance’s disappearance, was questioned by police.
Mr Amey had been separated from Ms Lindholm for several years, and there was ongoing animosity between the couple over a real estate dispute.
Staff at Visions Fitness Centre in Hawthorn declined to comment on Tuesday.
