Mr Abbott has worked for the City of Greater Bendigo for over four years and was acknowledged for his work on the Maiden Gully Precinct Structure Plan and Bendigo Residential development.
“My job involves understanding trends and long term aspirations on how to continually improve the city,” Mr Abbott said.
The award is in its sixth year and gives recipients a $5000 grant to further studies relevant to their area.
Mr Abbott said he was passionate about future growth and development of Bendigo and central Victoria.
