In a dramatic reveal, students were surprised with a gift on Tuesday.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Barry Lyons presented the school with 15 mountain bikes and helmets.
The school won the Walk to School program, an initiative led by the Healthy Together Bendigo team, the council and the state government.
Epsom Primary School principal Kerry McGuffie said she was happy the school was recognised for its efforts.
“These brand new bikes will definitely encourage the kids to ride more and be more active at school and at home,” she said.
“It will also allow the school to develop a bike education program.”
