ELMORE notched up its first win of the Northern United Cricket Association season on Saturday, defeating Goornong.

Goornong put itself into a strong position with the bat after being sent in, amassing 9-171 off its 40 overs.
The main contributors in the Goornong innings were opener Jesse O’Connell (32) and Kyle Seidel (25), while the side also had five other players score in double figures.
However, Goornong’s score wasn’t enough as Elmore replied with 9-178.
The multiple wicket-takers for Goornong were Nick Edwards (3-19), Dylan McNamara (2-19), Jake Quarrel-Bell (2-34) and Seidel (2-43).
No Elmore batting or bowling details were supplied.
The win was just the fifth for Elmore in its past 71 games.
Two of those wins have now come against Goornong in their past three meetings.
• Reigning premier Heathcote copped a 92-run hiding off Calivil to lose its second game in a row.
Calivil compiled 3-159 batting first led by Garner Smith (42 n.o.) and David Dennis (42).
Patrick Ring (2-26) was the leading wicket-taker for Heathcote, which had a shocker with the bat in reply when it was routed for just 67, with Jake Condon top-scoring with 23.
Phil Brown was the chief destroyer with the ball for Calivil, claiming 5-15 off eight overs.
• Flag favourite Dingee won an entertaining contest with Raywood.
Dingee answered Raywood’s 6-166 with 8-173 to win its eighth game in a row.
Dingee’s best performers were Kyle Patten (60 n.o.), Daniel Whitfield (2-23) and Ricky Welsh (2-23), while Raywood was well led by opener Damian Tresize (49) and Ash Austin (3-24).
