Mr Chesters has spoken with some Bendigo businesses who are concerned about the long-term effects.
"There are a few rubber businesses that supply parts to Holden," she said.
"Holden isn't their only client but there is a worry that these businesses will have to compete against other suppliers which may pop up."
Prime Minister Tony Abbott said it was a ‘‘sad, bad day’’ for Australian manufacturing.
About 2900 Holden workers will lose their jobs over the next two-and-a-half years.
