Pryse's bid for a score of 7100 points or more at last weekend's 10-event duel in Campbelltown was rocked by illness.
Despite being ill, the 17-year-old from Bendigo Harriers Athletics Club was able to complete the program.
The Brett Gilligan-coached athlete will take a week's rest from training.
Pryse is the reigning Australian and Victorian under-18 decathlon champion.
He was a recipient of the Cyril Michelsen Trust Fund in the Bendigo Advertiser Sports Star of the Year, which is proudly backed by Bendigo Bank and WIN Television.
