Pryse aims for success at states

KANGAROO Flat decathlete Blake Pryse has sights set on achieving the qualifying mark for the junior worlds at next year's state titles.

Pryse's bid for a score of 7100 points or more at last weekend's 10-event duel in Campbelltown was rocked by illness.

Despite being ill, the 17-year-old from Bendigo Harriers Athletics Club was able to complete the program.

The Brett Gilligan-coached athlete will take a week's rest from training.

Pryse is the reigning Australian and Victorian under-18 decathlon champion.

He was a recipient of the Cyril Michelsen Trust Fund in the Bendigo Advertiser Sports Star of the Year, which is proudly backed by Bendigo Bank and WIN Television.
