Abbott lurching from one crisis to another

THE government I lead will not deal with the Greens, have no secrets and be open and transparent with no surprises, with all the people of Australia's interests first and foremost. Three months later it resembles something out of Fawlty Towers.
Control freak Peta is running the joint and the troops are not happy—and it's common knowledge. How's Christine going Tony? You know, she is the leader of a party you described as loopy, but has just allowed you to scrap the debt ceiling.
Debt ceiling gone - thanks to the Greens. Stop the boats - stopped by Labor, buying fishing boats sunk by Indonesia. Proposed sale of Graincorp - sunk by National Party. Basil Morrison's Operation Sovereign Borders floundering somewhere in the Indian ocean. Three-star general gone missing.
Gonski reforms ambushed by Christopher Pyne, and less than truthful on literacy results. One, these results are produced under the Howard system, and two, the number of countries participating has doubled.
Rich spouses receiving the full $75,000, $3100 a week, or $75 an hour for six months to have a baby. Childcare workers receive $19 dollars an hour to look after their children when they return to care. People with $2 million in superannuation earning $100,000 or above are not going to be taxed. Super bonus for the low paid - gone, schoolkids bonus - gone, etc., etc., etc.
Yep, steady as she goes, totally fair and transparent. The very well-heeled legitimately screwing the very not well heeled. That's the way it is. OK.
Joe, when you receive your taxation review, could you install a “Santa clause” where everybody in this country pays their fair share of tax into the public purse, and politicians take their grubby hands out.
You could be forgiven to thinking that our taxation system was written by the British Chancellor of the Exchequer.
But I will bet anything that he doesn't come from Brixton, Birmingham or Manchester- the same as our treasurer doesn't come from Western Sydney, Footscray or Bendigo.
And there lies the biggest problem. Neither of them live in the real world - and never will.
