Bendigo police say four rubbish bins were set on fire in the early hours of Monday.
Sergeant Daryl Costelow said bins were set alight on the corner of Ashley and High streets in Ironbark at 12.30am.
He said bins were also on fire about 4.50am on Eaglehawk Road.
Sergeant Costelow said firefighters extinguished the bin fires.
He encouraged anyone with any information on the incidents to contact Bendigo Police on 5448 1300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
"We ask anyone who saw or heard anything to get in touch with us," Sergeant Costelow said.
Police have been called to a number of bin fires across the region this year.
Bins in Bendigo, Eaglehawk and Strathdale have all been set alight.
