Units were only required to wash away the petrol.
The spill was the allegedly the result of someone trying to siphon petrol out of a car in the GrainCorp carpark.
The CFA spent 40 minutes cleaning up the site and ventilating the surrounding buildings.
"Most of the tank was on the ground, so they haven't got much," leading firefighter Andrew Hand said.
"We covered the spill over with sand and ventilated the area.
"It was in the rear carpark of GrainCorp."
As the issue was not on the main road, the Calder Highway remained open.
The north central region of Victoria has a low to moderate fire danger rating for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The CFA advises people who live near dense forest, bush or grassland to be prepared as bushfire season approaches.
