Mullens is recalibrating his aim for Glasgow 2014 after winning the 25 metre Rapid Fire pistol event at the Oceania Shooting Federation Continental Championships in Sydney.
On Monday, Mullens claimed the gold medal in the hotly-contested event.
Mullens was in red-hot form in the final and scored 23 hits to be clearly ahead of his nearest rival.
Australians have dominated the Oceania event, which is held every two years.
At the half-way stage on Tuesday, 13 of the 15 Commonwealth Games events had been won by 'home' shooters.
Mullens' win is a boost for his chances of earning a position on the Australian team for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games from July 23 to August 3.
