Now in its third year, McHappy Day is one of Australia's longest-running charity events.
Money raised from the nation-wide event will go to a range of programs designed to help seriously ill children and their families.
Activities at Bendigo's McDonalds restaurants on Saturday include face-painting, showbags for kids and raffles.
"Bendigo is really getting into the spirit of the day," operations manager Inga McMillan said.
"We're a regional area so Bendigo is one of the places that make use of the Ronald McDonald Houses.
"Most people about Ronald McDonald Houses or know someone who's used a house."
