Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews has urged Bendigo residents to report their concerns with regional roads to a new website.
Mr Andrews launched the campaign with Labor MPs Jacinta Allan, Maree Edwards and Shadow Roads Minister Luke Donnellan on Monday at Strathfieldsaye Road, East Bendigo.
Mr Andrews said the State Government had significantly cut funding to roads across the region.
"The neglect of regional and suburban roads is no surprise when (Premier) Denis Napthine is spending $8 billion on a dud tunnel in Melbourne's inner city that no-one voted for," Mr Andrews said.
He said the website enabled motorists to share their opinions on roads they believed were neglected and in need of repair.
"We want local people to report because they know the local roads best,'' he said.
Mr Andrews said he believed the government was mean-spirited.
"You can't be inconsistent with funding, especially when it comes to people's safety. The community is quite rightly upset, passionate and angry,'' he said.
He said he was confident people would flood the website with their concerns.
"I have no doubt that people and communities will want to tell their story," Mr Andrews said.
He said the party would campaign for repairs depending on the information received.
"We will look to highlight the concerns people have," he said.
Mr Andrews said he was also "disturbed" by a lack of funding given to mental health services.
"I think we need to acknowledge that carers are not currently being catered for," he said.
"I have heard some horror stories over the last few weeks from people working in the mental health sector who don't have enough resources to cope with demand."
People can go to the website, www.FixOurRoads.com.au to share their road concerns.
