BENDIGO Bowls Division won the annual Norm Knopp Shield for the 16th time on Sunday.
The tournament saw Bendigo compete against representative teams from the Campaspe, Goulburn Valley and Murray bowls divisions at Eaglehawk Bowls Club.
The shield came down to the last match of the day in the round-robin competition, with both Bendigo and Goulburn Valley on 15 points after the second game.
However, the home side won five rinks and drew one in the last game, while Goulburn Valley won four.
The best performed rinks on the day was Bendigo’s Nick Belt, Russell Evans, Simon Carter and David Keenan (skipper).
They had 3 wins and 103 shots, while the rink of Troy Mansbridge, Simon Chisholm, Torie Babitsch and Andrew Brown (s) had three wins 24 shots.
Final ladder: Bendigo (28 points, +103 shots), Goulburn Valley (25, 16), Campaspe Valley(11, -14), Murray (8 -105).
