ECHUCA police are appealing for information about a crash which has left a 20-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
Echuca police officers were travelling on the Murray Valley Highway when they spotted the loose stones around 1.30am.
The officers stopped to investigate and discovered a crash site off to the side of the road.
It is believed the driver had lost control of his car and hit a tree.
Search and Rescue police freed the injured driver from the wreck.
The 20-year-old Echuca man was airlifted to The Alfred.
He is in a serious but stable condition.
