Student studying VCAL Themed Community Services have sourced and put together care packages to help people who do not have a home.
Each package consists of a face washer, toothbrush and tooth paste, soap, razors, tissues and deodorant, lip balm, shampoo and sanitary items.
VCAL community services co-ordinator Erin Leerentveld said the students had come up with the idea for the project and were passionate about making a difference from the start.
"They recognise how difficult it would be for people who live on the streets or have no place to call home and see the value that these packs will have for people who are experiencing homelessness," she said.
Year 11 student Ebony Waldron said the packages would go to people who were in need of basic hygiene products.
"There's people out there who don't have access to soap or a toothbrush," she said.
"I think everyone should - that's why it's so important to help out when you can."
Salvation Army representative Terry Quinn described the students as compassionate.
"These packages will go to local people whether it be families or single people," he said.
