BENDIGO mum Kelly Haw has raised about $3000 to go towards a project to honour the lives of stillborn babies.
Ms Haw hosted a fundraiser at Harrison 4WD Centre on Saturday for her Memories of an Angel project.
The initiative will provide parents of stillborn children with a special gift pack.
The pack will include a Thomas Sabo initial pendant, framed hand and foot prints and a personalised candle.
"The fundraiser went really well," Ms Haw said.
"We would have got at least 60 people along on the day."
The event included live music, a sausage sizzle and other entertainment.
Ms Haw knows all to well the pain of stillbirth after her first child Oscar was "born sleeping" on July 15, 2011.
"It was at 30 weeks," she said.
"I went into hospital, his heart rate dropped but then it went back up again and everything was fine.
"That was the Tuesday at 1am and then Wednesday night I felt him move and it wasn't a pleasant move and I thought something wasn't quite right there.
"Then the next morning I hadn't felt any movement at all so the doctor put me on the monitor and by lunchtime we'd had an ultrasound and he'd actually passed away."
