The two-day event kicked off on Friday with the Annual Street Parade featuring the Castlemaine Highland Pipe Band, Scouts, local businesses and schools.
There was plenty on offer for all the family with lots of rides, an animal nursery, horse events, arts and crafts competitions, face painting and a firework display.
Castlemaine and District Agricultural Society secretary Debbie Hamilton said the event was terrific.
“The weather was beautiful and the gates are up with around 2000 people coming over the two days,” she said.
“Our treasurer is still counting but he’s smiling, so it’s looking good.”
