A P-Plater smashed his car through a Bendigo roundabout and took out a tree and street sign while drink-driving at more than three times the legal limit, police say.
The 20-year-old Horsham man crashed through the Williamson Street and McLaren Street roundabout about 2am Saturday.
The man's car smashed through a 50kmh speed sign and uprooted a tree.
The car was written off but the man was uninjured.
Sergeant Della Nihill said the man was taken to the police station where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.153.
The man had his probationary driver's licence suspended.
He will be charged on summons to appear at court.
Drummond Golf staff arrived to find the damage Saturday morning.
A give way sign and a five-metre tree landed just metres short of the shop window after being hit by the car.
Store owner Chris Wilkinson said it was fortunate there wasn't further damage.
"It's pretty unbelievable," he said.
"If it hadn't hit the tree, it could have ended up in the shop."
A golf measurement scope device showed the car came to a stop 44 metres from the roundabout it smashed through.
The incident comes less than a week after Bendigo police caught nine alcohol and drug-affected drivers in one weekend.
Sergeant Nihill said it was concerning that people would put themselves behind the wheel of a car after a night of drinking.
"It seems to be an ongoing issue unfortunately," she said.
"People who think it’s okay to drive home, they don't have a sound mind.
''With such high readings, they're certainly incapable of driving and extremely impaired.
"It's not just putting themselves in danger, but the rest of the community."
Sergeant Nihill said investigations were ongoing into the crash.
