THE multi-million dollar new Bendigo Hospital project has met all of the value for money requirements, says Health Minister David Davis.
Mr Davis tabled the project summary report in Parliament on Thursday.
He said the project has been found to meet all the financial requirements necessary for a Public Private Partnership by Partnerships Victoria.
“The Victorian Coalition Government is delivering on its $630 million commitment to build a bigger and better hospital in Bendigo,” Mr Davis said.
“The Bendigo Hospital project is the largest hospital development undertaken in regional Australia, and will deliver better health outcomes for families in Bendigo, the Loddon-Mallee region and northern Victoria.
“The hospital will be one of the most advanced regional health facilities in Australia."
The new hospital will feature 372 inpatient beds, an 80 bed psychiatric inpatient unit, 72 same-day beds, an integrated cancer centre, 10 operating theatres and four radiation therapy bunkers.
