BENDIGO health has seen a jump in emergency admissions and elective surgeries with almost 10,000 patients admitted between April and June this year.
Health Services Performance Data indicated there were 9,999 patients in the three-month period, with almost a third of those emergency patients.
Victorian health minister David Davis said the figures showed positive signs in clearing a backlog of elective surgery patients.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said it was difficult to assess whether there was an improvement in the number of patients treated.
She said the government should release the full figures.
“What’s very concerning is that the minister has chosen to selectively release data on performance of the Bendigo hospital rather than the full picture," she said.
Ms Allan said there were issues with the hospital's waiting list and with ambulances "ramping" at the emergency department.
Bendigo Health's annual report is set to be tabled in parliament this week.
