POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner to examine the deaths of an elderly couple in a crash in Moliagul on Monday.
The man, 85, and his wife, 74, were on holidays from New South Wales when their campervan was struck by an oncoming truck.
Maryborough Police First Constable Jeremy Hancock said the campervan failed to stop at the intersection of Wedderburn-Rheola Road and the Wimmera Highway.
Paramedics treated the 85-year-old man at the scene but were unable to resuscitate him.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Constable Hancock said it was unclear why the campervan failed to stop at the intersection.
The campervan overturned on impact.
