POLICE officers from across central Victoria will be out in force on Wednesday.
As Bendigo prepares for one of the biggest social events of the calender so are the police.
Highway patrol units and a booze bus will be set up outside of the Bendigo Jockey Club.
Police say anyone who leaves the racecourse will be breath tested, with police also having the capabilities to drug test drivers.
Senior Sergeant Craig Gaffee said Bendigo racegoers could have a good time with their friends but urged them to drink and act responsibly.
