THE St Arnaud and Wycheproof racecourses are set to recieve a funding boost.
In a joint Victorian Government and racing industry investment of nearly $12,000 for new portable fencing and trailer for raceday events.
Member for Swan Hill Peter Walsh said the new equipment would enhance the experience of racegoers across the several meetings held at local tracks.
“This new fencing allows clubs to better configure their events to meet the needs of patrons including fencing off dedicated marquee and activity areas,” he said.
Manangatang, Murtoa and Swan Hill racecourses also received funding.
Premier and Racing minister Denis Napthine said the government was a big supporter of country racing.
He said he was committed to assisting racing clubs with any infrastructure improvements.
“It is vital to foster growth in an industry which is worth $729 million to the state’s rural and regional economy and employs over 27,000 country Victorians,” he said.
