NINE reconditioned bicycles were presented to the local Sudanese community last week as part of the Free Wheeling Project.
The bike donations are part of the Free Wheeling Project, which involves women from Tarrengower Women’s Prison learning bike repair skills, so they can repair and donate bikes to local community services.
The project has already seen eight bikes donated to Windarring and eight bikes donated to Castlemaine District Community Health.
The bike handovers occur every three months to local community services, or disadvantaged community members.
The Free Wheeling Project is a partnership between the Tarrengower Women’s Prison and Mt Alexander Shire Council.
