AFTER 36 years at Bendigo East, Ken Barker will play his last game of pennant for the club on Saturday.
Barker is moving to Leopold and will end an association with East that began in January, 1977.
He has played about 500 games of pennant for East and skipped in nine of 10 premiership teams.
As well as his success on the greens, Barker has been a hard-working volunteer at East, with roles including club delegate (1985-94) and greens director (1991-99).
He spent 15 years on the general committee, served as president in 1984-85 and secretary from 2002-04, while for more than 10 years he has cooked Bendigo East's weekly Friday night meals.
Barker has also had a strong involvement with the Bendigo Bowls Division, including roles on the greens, match and general committees. His final game will be in division three against South Bendigo.
