CATHERINE Mathewson loves helping customers find a bargain.
The 35-year-old Bendigo resident is a volunteer at Bendigo's Vision Australia op shop.
"I've been volunteering here since June," she said.
"I help prepare the stock, the floor, I help with sales, cleaning and I do a bit of everything."
Ms Mathewson was busy helping out at the op shop on Thursday.
"I just one day a week," she said.
"I enjoy giving back to the community."
Before taking on a volunteer role with Vision Australia, Ms Mathewson volunteered at a gift shop.
"I enjoy seeing the happy faces when they see the bargains," she said.
"Making them smile at the end of the day is what I enjoy.
"It's about going that extra mile for the customer."
Ms Mathewson said Vision Australia offered training for its volunteers.
"It gives you the insight into how things run, where the money goes and what else actually goes on behind the scenes besides just at the op shop," she said.
