HAVING landed two of the Bendigo Football League's star forwards, Mount Pleasant has now strengthened its backline with the addition of Tim Hill.
Hill is the third high-profile Eaglehawk player to reunite with former coach Derrick Filo at Mount Pleasant following the recent signings of key forward duo Kain Robins and Matt Gretgrix.
The departure of key defender Hill to Mount Pleasant in the Heathcote District Football League is yet another member of this year's Bendigo Football League inter-league team leaving the competition.
"We're rapt to have Hilly on board," Blues coach Filo said on Wednesday.
"We've already got Chris Black, who is a quality full-back, so with a spine of him, Hilly, Robins and Gretgrix, it gives us a really good structure.
"We want to play attacking footy, but we also need a really strong defence and getting Hilly in certainly strengthens us."
With the Blues having bolstered their key position players through Hill, Robins and Gretgrix, Filo will now set his sights on attracting an on-baller of similar quality.
"If we can get a class midfielder, that will just about see us out," Filo said.
"We're not looking to increase the size of the squad too much, just the quality.
"We'll be looking for a midfielder of similar quality to what we've been able to pick up already."
