BENDIGO entertainers came together on Tuesday to launch the 10th anniversary of the Summer in the Parks program.
With the Town Hall clock as a back drop the countdown to summer is well and truly on.
This year’s program is the biggest to date with more than 40 events planned over December, January and February.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Lisa Ruffell said Summer in the Parks program was growing in popularity each year.
“It is a great chance for community members to engage with our parks,” she said.
“Parents don’t have to get in the car and drive somewhere, you can walk.
“The Summer in the Parks program offers fantastic value with all events either completely free of charge or at a very low cost.”
In December a host of Christmas festivities will take over greater Bendigo parks, while every Friday night in January local musicans will take to the stage.
In Febraury when the sun goes down, movies will be screened as you sit under the stars.
Mayor Ruffell said new events have also been planned, they include singing in the park and healthy park play activities.
