Mobiles to show location in an emergency
Victoria's triple-0 operator is pushing telcos to provide technology to locate people making emergency calls on mobile phones.
More than half the 6500 calls the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority receives daily are from mobiles and unlike calls from landlines that provide exact addresses operators have to ask for location details, which delays response times.
International rules players drunken night out
Several AFL players on international duties in Ireland have had a boozy Sunday night.
Players went out to a nightclub in Limerick before returning to their hotel room of one of the players, where they stayed until the early hours of the morning.
Hotel staff asked the players to turn down the music at 5am however had to return 15 minutes later and insist on turning the music off after hotel guests were woken up.
