"Just the whole having to walk three or four blocks bringing my groceries home or having to park on my own nature strip," he said.
"It's very frustrating."
Mr Martin made the comments after it was announced on Monday the City of Greater Bendigo council will consider introducing paid parking in the block surrounding the Bendigo Hospital.
Director of planning and development Prue Mansfield said if the proposal was adopted by council residents would be consulted and kept in the loop.
"Because that means those residential streets will have all day parking in them, we will, as the streets get full, if the residents want it, put in a few short-term parking bays to keep it for residents, visitors and tradies and services that come to people's houses," she said.
"So in each case we'll consult with the residents of that street and say, 'You're getting full, do you want a few short-term bays or not?"
