THE shires of Loddon, Buloke and Gannawarra will host a series of free workshops over the coming months to train local farmers, businesses and individuals to meet the challenges of the World Wide Web and the digital age.
The series of workshops start at the Boort Information Resource Centre on Tuesday at 9.30am.
The first workshop’s title is online marketing strategy and is the first of eight to be held by Loddon Shire which will include subjects like social media for your business, selling through your website, social media strategy and others.
Buloke and Gannawarra dates are being finalised for late 2013 and early 2014.
Workshop presenter, Tim Gentle of Bendigo’s Design Experts, said technology was relevant to everyone.
"It's important to be aware of how going online can increase business and productivity," he said.
"By attending these workshops I can take individuals through the gamut of availabilities and provide skills to meet the challenges head-on."
Mr Gentle has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and has led more than 350 workshops with thousands of businesses attending.
Regional development manager for AgriFood Skills Australia Graeme Lynas said Mr Gentle was an engaging presenter.
“Tim involves the audience, evokes discussion and makes the technical terms easy to understand,” Mr Lynas said.
“He is an expert in this field and has a reputation for running excellent workshops that provide current information, in a relevant and targeted way.
"AgriFood Skills Australia is delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to Victorian farmers, businesses and locals."
Workshops are open to everyone.
