SIX Bendigo artists will display their works at the new exhibition, Bush Arcadia.
The exhibition which explores native bushland was opened by City of Greater Bendigo mayor Lisa Ruffell at the Bendigo Visitor Centre's Living Arts Space on Saturday.
The artists featuring their work include; Helen Wakefield, Sue James, Gail Taverner, Melissa Urquhart, Karen Pierce and Susannah and Somerville Minotti.
City of Greater Bendigo Tourism manager Kathryn Mackenzie said each of the artists had interpreted Australia’s native flora and fauna in the exhibition.
She said the exhibition showcases a variety of items including screen-printed linens, objects made of native timbers and porcelain.
“The six participating artists have transposed their passion for our native flora and fauna into unique pieces which are sure to interest and delight visitors to the region as well as local residents,” Ms Mackenzie said.
“It’s a stimulating exhibition that presents works from both well-known artists and artists that are new to our region.”
Bush Arcadia will run until February 2, 2014.
The Visitor Information Centre is open daily between 9am and 5pm.
