THE City of Greater Bendigo has welcomed a $100,000 commitment from the Hugh D.T. Williamson Foundation.
The donation is in support of Bendigo’s new library.
The new facility is currently under construction and will open early next year.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Lisa Ruffell said the funding would be used to develop the new community arts, local history and research spaces.
Each space will feature audio visual equipment, mounted screens and digital projections.
“This philanthropic support is an example of how the City of Greater Bendigo is partnering with others to deliver high quality services and facilities for our community,” she said.
“It is through projects like these that the Bendigo Library will be transformed from a lending facility to a centre for community learning and social inclusion.”
